Banjo society performs in Copiague Friday nights

The general public is invited to free performances of the Long Island Banjo Society every Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall at 270 Trouville Rd, Copiague, one block south of Oak Street between Route 110 and Great Neck Rd. You can sing along and dance to the music. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. candlelight tables and music from the 40s via D.J. till 8 p.m., when the banjo's go into full swing.

The band also frequently performs at various parks, senior citizen facilities, fraternal meetings, hospitals and many charity functions.

They are always looking for new members. Anyone interested should contact the Society at http:// www.libanjosociety.org.
