Amityville Guidance Counselors Recognized by Superintendent

To recognize National Guidance Counselor Recognition Week, Dr. John Williams, interim superintendent of the Amityville Public Schools, honored the district's guidance counselors for the outstanding service they provide to the students of the district. Dr. Williams presented the guidance staff with a proclamation at the district's most recent School Business Partnership meeting, a group that was spearheaded by Patricia Hausfeld, District Director of Guidance and member of the Suffolk County Advisory Board Council. The School Business Partnership, which provides district students with the opportunity for internships within the district and community, is just one of the many accom- plishments of the high school guidance department, which has also been recognized with a Best Practices Award by the Western Suffolk Counselor's Association, and a Quality Effective Systems Transition Award by the New York State Rehabilitation Association (NYSRA).

Shown, left to right, are members of the Amityville Memorial High School Guidance Department: Director Patricia Hausfeld, Tiffany Coscia, Jackie Noon, Mary Garrison-Dennis, Keri Kearney, Stacy Merle, Donna Salerno, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Williams, who presented the group with a proclamation in honor of National Guidance Counselor Recognition Week.
