New Boys Soccer Coach Hopes to Awaken Tradition

The Amityville Public School District has announced that John Cardone has been appointed the new varsity boys soccer team coach. Cardone is a full time physical education and health teacher at Amityville Memorial High School and has worked across Long Island training soccer teams, drawing upon his four years of collegiate soccer experience. "There is evidence of the direction in which the Amityville boys soccer team is headed under the tutelage of John Cardone," stated Interim Director of Physical Education and Health Tony Cerullo.

"The team achieved a 3-0 victory over Shoreham-Wading River, which was the toughest team to beat." Cardone hopes that his team will make the playoffs, which is one of the many goals he intends to work towards, in addition to awakening the soccer tradition that Amityville enjoyed under Coach Ralph Forman, who preceded Cardone.
