Author speaks at Woman's Club luncheon
He has written two books. Tiny Twenty tells the true story of his football team at Hofstra back in the late '50s where he was one of the players. They got this nickname not because they were a small team but in those days most colleges had teams with rosters of 40 or 50 men. Yet they competed and completed a highly successful NCAA schedule against these teams and defeated them. This is a personal story told with sensitivity and humor about that time in his life and that of the other players and coaches. It will take you down memory lane. The other book is called Tuffy, Di Blasi's nickname as a child. This is his autobiography. As he says "Life is a one shot deal, with no return ticket." It's his story as a college athlete, a lifeguard, rock bar bouncer, a former Marine in mine warfare, platoon leader and football and lacrosse coach. Coaching was his real passion and still is, hoswever.
As the speaker at the luncheon, he shared how gratifying it is to write a book about life experiences and how some one can about themselves. Memory seems to pop into overdrive and you can recall events which you thought you had forgotten, he sdaid.
