Dave Adamson named Judge Advocate
Adamson graduated from West Islip High School in 1999 with an honor diploma and as an honor graduate. He played JV volleyball and tennis for two years and varsity tennis and volleyball for one year. He graduated from Colgate University in 2003 magna cum laude, was on the dean's list four of five semesters and tutored Latin. He had received a full tuition scholarship to St. Joseph's college in Patchogue for academics. He played varsity tennis, was a member of the college honor society Sigma Iota Chi, was on the orientation team for incoming freshmen, and played club roller hockey and intramural ice hockey. Adamson graduated Hofstra University School of Law in 2006, JD, cum laude. He was an editor of the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal. He was elected graduation speaker by his peers, on the dean's list and awarded a merit scholarship. He received the Herman Hillman Memorial Scholarship for excellence in Real Estate Law. He was a member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. His article, The Discharge of Sexual Harassment Judgments in Bankruptcy Court: An Attempt to Right "A Grave Injustice" was published in the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal, Volume 23.3 and in the L&E Newsletter of the NYS Bar Association. Adamson attended the University of Miami School of Law and pursued an LL.M in property development and completed his training in May 2007. He received the School of law Academic Graduate Scholarship. He studied in the University of the Netherlands Antilles, Willemstad, Curacao with the Hofstra University School of Law Study Abroad Program December 2004 to January 2005 where he studied International and European Union Law. Prior to entering the Judge Advocate General's Department, he was employed summers with several law firms and also as a legal intern with the NYS Division of Human Rights.
