Grace Cicalese: Loving Amityville Matriarch

Longtime Amityville resident and loving mother and grandmother Grace Cicalese died Dec. 30, 2007 in Modena, New York. She was 86 years old and had lived on Willis Avenue in Amityville for more than 57 years.

Mrs. Cicalese was a loving homemaker who dedicated herself to her family. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Amityville Fire Department, and had been a foster mother during her younger years. She moved to Modena in 2006 to live with her daughter, Joyce.

She leaves behind her children: Paul and his wife Denise, Joyce Fazio and her husband Thomas and Cammie Hoyle; her grandchildren: Denise, Vincent, Paul, Danny and Nicole; her great granddaughter, Gabriella; and her siblings: Josephine Barberi and Mauro Consoli. She was predeceased by her grandson Joseph and her husband Alfonso.

Mrs. Cicalese reposed at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville Jan. 2 and 3, 2008. An Amityville F.D. Ladies Auxiliary Service was held the evening of Jan. 3, 2008. A Funeral Mass was held Jan. 4, 2008 at St. Martin of Tours R.C. in Amityville followed by interment in Long Island National Cemetery at Pinelawn.
