State Correctional Services seeks job applicants

Assemblyman Bob Sweeney has announced that the New York State Department of Correctional Services is recruiting applicants for the position of correction officer trainee. The Department of Civil Service will give an examination for the position on April 12, 2008. The filing deadline for the exam is Feb. 25.

A correction officer trainee's starting salary is $34,l329 per year, increasing to $36,111 after six months and then increasing to $41,348 after the one year traineeship.
