Sheila Johnson named new board member for CAPS

Sheila Ann Johnson
Nassau and Suffolk county's leading organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect is pleased to announce the following local appointment to its Board of Directors: Sheila Ann Johnson, MS, LS, JD, of Amityville, is a librarian/ consultant, a recent law school graduate and ar- dent childrens' and youth advocate. She also volunteers as a CAPS program presenter.

The new members of the Board will assist the organization in realizing its goal of widespread expansion of programs, staffing, volunteers and services.

The Roslyn-based Child Abuse Prevention Services, founded in 1982, is Long Island's comprehensive resource center for the prevention of child abuse, bullying and peer harassment. It is a non-profit organization underwritten by private donations, grants and legislative appropriations.
