Amityville Artists' Circle hosts two-part art program

Wish you could paint with watercolors? Want to have your artwork evaluated by other artists? Come join members of the Amityville Artists' Circle at the First United Methodist Church, 25 Broadway, Amityville, on Sat., Jan. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for an enlightening program of painting and critique. Retired teacher Tom Claps will begin the program with a demonstration of watercolor techniques. Working with a landscape sketch, Tom, who has been painting most of his life, will offer how to tackle the challenges of watercolors.

The second half will have local artists discussing their work in terms of concept, design and technique. Bring a favorite piece of art- or a not-sofavorite one- and let your peers help you achieve a more constructive and analytical view of your work. The session promises to be a lively exchange of ideas. Coffee, tea, donuts and bagels will be served.
