Kiwanis installs Scott Andrews
Dr. Scott Andrews, principal of Amityville Memorial High School, was inducted into the Amityville Kiwanis Club on Saturday morning, Nov. 8.
The installation took place as members of the Kiwanis and other volunteers set up the "Field of Honor" on the front lawn of the Amityville Memorial High School. The Field of Honor is a Kiwanis fundraiser. The organization purchases flags in honor of American veterans or military groups. The flags have a ribbon containing the name of the honoree, and are flown for a week on the grounds of the high school. Following that they are givn to the individual or family that purchased made the contribution. Money raised through this event is used for Kiwanis projects, particularly those for veterans.
“Dr. Andrews passion for serving the children of the Amityville community will be a great asset to the Kiwanis Club,” said Kiwanis President Corinne Amico.
