AMHS guidance office offers resume workshop

The Amityville Memorial High School guidance department is offering lunchtime resume writing workshops for students interested in learning how to construct and write a resume. Many of the students taking part in the workshops are forgoing their lunch period to be involved in this activity.

Students are learning how to put together a concrete history of the activities in which they have been involved during their time at AMHS. An 11th grade student had this to say about the workshop: "The counselors were able to help me tailor my resume to the college I am interested in attending. It is great to get such individual attention." Students are also using completed resumes to obtain employment. "Our guidance department will be offering various workshops throughout the school year on pertinent and timely topics," said High School Principal Dr. Scott Andrews.
