FALLing in love with Babylon
The weekend of Oct. 18 and 19 was a whirlwind for passionate Harvest fairgoers who had the opportunity to attend three major events celebrating Fall in Babylon this year. On Saturday, the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce held its annual Street Fair. Hundreds of shoppers strolled along Deer Park Avenue and Main Street taking advantage of bargains, great food and meeting and greeting neighbors and friends.
"It was a great event and the streets was very crowded," said Donna Consola,
president of the Babylon Village
Chamber of Commerce. "We had wonderful exposure for the merchants and the event gave everyone a chance to see just how beautiful the Village of Babylon is."
In addition, the Conklin House sponsored the Apples and Arts Festival.
The same day, Babylon Town sponsored its first Harvest Festival around the newly refurbished lake at Town Hall. Vendors and sponsors showed their wares and cool, sunny skies made
the event very enjoyable.
Finally, the Copiague Chamber of Commerce hosted a food festival at Tanner Park. Chamber of Commerce President Sal Puglia said the event drew hundreds of people under cool, windy skies. The fair had been scheduled for September but was cancelled due to stormy weather.
