      Longtime Massapequa resident and Levittown teacher, Alan A. Chasnov died Sept. 20, 2008 at New Island hospital in Bethpage. He was 87. He was born Sept. 19, 1921 in Brooklyn to Morris and Rebecca (Menchel) and served in the U.S.

      Loving family matriarch and retired Massapequa School District teacher Rosemary M. Owens died Oct. 13, 2008. She would have been 82 years old in November. Born and raised in Rockville Centre, she lived on West Shore Drive in Massapequa for 57 years.
