Amityville Soccer

•The action was fast and furious as the Amityville Soccer U7 Soccer Division looks to be in midseason form. Two games took place on a beautiful September Sunday morning and in additon to facing off against their fellow rowdy six-year olds, the teams were also battling some hungry mosquitoes looking for one final feast. The kids toughed it out and played great.

•The Rockets ran into a very strong Hurricanes team, led by Kristian Rafsol who was all over the field, providing strong offense and great goaltending. Joey Carman was a disruptive force keeping the ball in the Rockets end and breaking up several rushes. For the Rockets, William Byrne really moved the ball well and had several offensive threats and was joined by Ryan Onderdonk who weaved in and out of defenders and left it all out on the field.

•The Lightning and Stingrays met one field over and Kyle Barsic had 2 first half goals followed by 2 second half goals. Ed Ryan and Patrick Henzy each scored while Mark Imbert played stellar defense.

For the Lightning Lance Novick played great offense, Brandon Moriati showed great speed and determination. Meghan Bonser did a terrific job in goal.

The kids took some team pictures at the end and everyone hit the ice cream truck for a couple of cold ones - all in all, a great day!
