Auditorium named in honor of Amityville educator, coach

Amityville'e Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School Auditorium was officially renamedtheLonnieKittleAuditorium in honor of former teacher, wrestling coach and supervising principal Mr. Henry "Lonnie" Kittle, who contributed greatly to the success of Amityville's students both academically and athletically. The Amityville Board of Education

recognized Mr. Kittle's unselfish service to the district and community at a special ceremony attended by retired New York State Supreme Court Justice Mr.Shawn Fives and other Kiwanis representatives, and family and friends of Mr. Kittle.To make the dedication official, a special plaque bearing the title "The Lonnie Kittle Auditorium" was mounted outside the doors to remind all who enter of Mr. Kittle's impact on the Amityville Public School and community.
