The Babylon Arts Council Announces Photography Workshop and kids' art classes

The Babylon Arts Council announced offering of The Photography Workshop Series. Explore lighting, composition and technique with professional photographer Gino Rullo. The workshops consist of discussions and an opportunity to critique participants' work. Learn how to "see" and express emotion through photography. Both film and digital photography are applicable to the workshops. All levels and ages are welcome. Each workshop consists of two sessions, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as follows: Workshop 1: October 4 and 11, Workshop 2: November 1 and 8 and Workshop 3: December 6 & 13

The fee per two session workshop is $40 for Babylon Arts Council members and $50 for non-members. Workshops are held at The Babylon Arts Council Studio, Old Town Hall, 47 Main St., Babylon Village.

The Babylon Arts Council is also offering a lineup of autumn art classes for children. Children can participate in a new after school class on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. titled Kids' Art Journey. In this class, students in grades two to five will experiment with a variety of materials and create projects in mixed-media. Student artwork will be selected for use on The Babylon Art Council's greeting cards. There are also studio art classes for students in kindergaraten through sixth grade on Saturday mornings. In studio art, students will learn drawing, painting and sculpting techniques. All levels welcome.

The eight-week autumn session began Sept. 8 and runs through Nov. 7. Classes are being held in the Babylon Arts Council art room in the Babylon Town Hall Annex, 281 Phelps Lane, North Babylon. The fee is $80 for members and $100 for non-members.
