A Young Boaters Course is being offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 01-04, Lindenhurst, Great South Bay, Fire Island Station. The course will be held Thursdays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30 and Nov. 6 and 13, 7 to 9 p.m. at the William Rall Elementary School, 761 North Wellwood Ave., Lindenhurst. The cost is $35 and offered to children ages 10 to 17.

The course prepares young people for the responsibility of safe boating. Upon the successful completion of the course, graduates are given wallet cards which are accepted in lieu of NYS boating license for the operation of personal watercraft and powerboats.

All classes are taught by instructors with years of teaching experience and are members of the Lindenhurst USCG Auxiliary. Advance registration is recommended. For information, contact DawnE333@aol.com.
