Christopher James of West Babylon went on a fishing trip with his aunt Marie Broderick, a former Amityville resident, and caught a 7.3-lb. fluke, winning the fishing pool for the day on Speedy out of Captree. He said he thought he had caught his line on a rock, but worked to bring the big one in, to the applause of all the other fisherman. He is the son of Mary and Christopher James and will be attending 5th grade at JFK School in West Babylon next month.
