Shown, left to right, are Dorothy Garvin, Ethel MacGill, Rachel Erath and recipient Amy LaRosa. One of the main concerns of the Amityville Woman's Club is the education of young women. As such, they annually give a donation to the Long Island Federation of Women's Clubs, and a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Amityville Memorial High School. The scholarship committee reviewed a large number of students who met the criteria. All candidates had exemplary grades, and had been involved in outside activities, many of which generally benefit the community. This year's recipient was Amy LaRosa. The is the granddaughter of former Judge Donald Auperin.
