Lifelong Amityvillian and businessman Paul Hatcher

Lifelong Amityville resident Paul A. Hatcher died May 31, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hos­pital in West Islip after a long illness. The self-employed businessman and loving family man was 59. "His greatest joy was his family," said his wife of 36 years, Kathy. "He was so proud of his children and grandchildren." He was born to Lester C. and Margaret (Conley) in Amityville and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hatcher operated his own coffee truck for about 20 years, which operated in Bellport and East Patchogue. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Kathy; his sons: Paul and his wife Shari and Keith and his wife Heather; his grandchildren: Koby, Kyle, Kali, Emma and Jack; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre­deceased by his brother, William C. The Rev. David W. Anglin, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted a prayer service at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville on June 3, 2008. Pastor Anglin officiated at the Funeral Service in the funeral home on June 4, 2008 followed by interment in Amityville Cemetery with Military Honors and a police escort.
