Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School junior Katherine Silva was selected to receive a $15,000 per year merit scholarship to attend Rensselaer Poly­Copiague technic Institute. This $15,000 scholarship is guaranteed for four years (five years for the School of Archi­tecture program). Silva was eligible to receive this scholar­ship

because she is a high achiever, in the top 10 percent of her class, demonstrates potential for suc­cess

in a challenging academic setting, excels in science and advanced math courses, and exhibits significant involve­ment in extracur­ricular activities.
