2008-06-25 / Front Page
Memorial Day is a time to thank the more than one million men and women who have died in military service to their country since the Revolutionary War. Members of the Amityville VFW post 7223 came out to honor fallen servicemen and women by marching in their local parade.
Shown in photo, left to right, are Ken Budd, Albert Capone, Vincent Ricciuti, Donald Auperin and Monte Montella. "I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth more than all the means...." -John Adams
