Woman hits planter and tree in auto accident

An East Farmingdale woman, driving along Merrick Road in Amityville, struck a Village planter and knocked down a tree Friday, June 27. Police said the woman, Jessica Byrne, 27, was heading west on Merrick Road when an eastbound vehicle cut across her lane, causing her to swerve. Her car collided with the planter approximately 25 feet west or Richmond Avenue. No injuries were reported. That incident occurred shortly after 12 p.m.
