   AFD responds to overturn vehicle accident

Amityville firefighters and rescue personnel rushed to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Countyline Road and Louden Avenue, shortly after 7 p.m., Friday, May 6. The call went out as an overturn and upon the arrival of Ass’t Chief Russell Sawyer, he reported that a car was on its side with occupants inside.

Crew members from 1-1-15 removed the roof from the vehicle, allowing rescue members to remove the victims. Engine 1-1-3 stood by with a hose line. Rescue unit 1-1-12 transported the victims to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. The driver of a second vehicle was checked at the scene and sustained no injuries. He refused medical treatment.

Amityville’s fire police responded for traffic control and the department was assisted by Massapequa.
