Longtime Amityville resident and loving caretaker Nettie A. Eleazer Foster, who was lovingly called "Mother Foster," died March 9, 2008. A Native American of the Shinnecock Tribe in Southampton, she was 80 years old. Born October 5, 1927 in Bellport to Paul Cuffee and Rose (Smith) Eleazer, she dedicated her life to caring for others.
