Longtime Amityville resident and loving caretaker Nettie A. Eleazer Foster, who was lovingly called "Mother Foster," died March 9, 2008. A Native American of the Shinnecock Tribe in Southampton, she was 80 years old. Born October 5, 1927 in Bellport to Paul Cuffee and Rose (Smith) Eleazer, she dedicated her life to caring for others. More ... Funeral services for Irving W. Doyle, a former local resident who died in Louisville Kentucky, will be held Sat. March 29, 2008 at Powell Funeral Home, Broadway, Amityville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Doyle's name be made to Captree Power Squadron at 24 Albert Rd., Amity Harbor NY 11701-4014.
