Babylon Historical Society meets Feb. 25
      The Babylon Town Historical Society will hold a meeting on Mon., Feb. 25, 7 p.m. at the Deer Park Library, 44 Lake Ave., Deer Park. The program will include a film of the history of Babylon. Babylon Town historian Thomas Smith will lead a discussion following the film. All residents of the Town of Babylon are invited to attend.

Vendors needed for craft fair
      Vendors are needed for the 14th Annual Deborah Hospital Foundation Craft Fair/Duck Race to be held Sat. June 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Babylon Town Hall Park, 200 East Sunrise Hwy., Lindenhurst. The fees are $40 for a 10 foot by 10 foot spot, $70 for a 10 foot by 20 foot spot, $110 for a 10 by 30 foot spot and $115 for food vendors.

Bethel Church hosts 21st Annual MLK Jr. Birthday Celebration
      The Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville and vicinity (MANA) held its 21st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration at the historic Bethel AME Church in Copiague. The Reverend Dr. Eugene McAshan was the keynote speaker. Dr. McAshan, the Pastor of Bethel AME for more than 11 years, will be retiring from the Pastorate in May 2008.

LI Decoy Collectors Assoc. show to be held March 1
      Ben Sohd, above left, and Charles deQuillfeldt III, are shown admiring a goose decoy (circa 1935) made by deQuillfeldt's father as a "hunting tool" used in his waterfowl guiding livelihood, in Amityville over 70 years ago. Charles and his wife Sandy even honeymooned during duck season aboard his father's cabinboat "Hunter" in 1949.

      The Deer Park Lions Club will present its Spring Doo Wop Dance and Show featuring The fabulous Acchords. Performing music of the '50s, '60s, and '70s for your listening and dancing enjoyment.
