Babylon Town Taxes due by January 10, 2008 Babylon Town Tax Receiver, Corinne DiSomma, stated that 2007/2008 first half taxes are due and payable in her office at 200 East Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst, on or before Thursday, January 10, 2008. Full payments will also be accepted at this time. Partial payments will be accepted with penalty pursuant to Resolution #551-2001. For your convenience, Discover/NOVUS cards will be accepted for payment of taxes in person or by mail. You can also make credit card payments through a telephone service by calling 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1- 800-272-9829) or visit the website at www.officialpayments.com. At the prompt, use Jurisdiction code 4232. A credit card service fee will be incurred by the cardholder. The office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Town Hall will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 31, 2007 and Jan. 1, 2008 for the holidays. Anyone paying taxes by mail, pursuant to Real Property Tax Law S 925 - will avoid penalty and interest if the envelope bears proper postage and an official post office date stamp no later than the last day to pay in person. A private postage meter stamp is not acceptable. Deposit in a local post office will not ensure a postmark on that date. Check with your local postmaster prior to mailing.
