St. Martin students thank our soldiers

Melanie Bellevue, a seventh grader in the school, collected holiday cards for the troops overseas. She asked each class to make or purchase a holiday card.

Melanie started this project in November so that she could get the cards back by Dec. 1 and into the mail so the soldiers would receive them in time for Christmas.

She was prompted by her concern that the troops know that they are appreciated and are being thought of during this holiday season when they are away from their families.

Patrica Savish's third grade class handmade 300 cards, the most of any class.

Melanie is shown with Miss Savish and her class with all the cards.
