Kindergarteners enjoy Copiague's annual Pajama Read Night

For the second consecutive year the Susan E. Wiley Elementary School in Copiague held its annual Pajama Read Night for kindergarten students. The Home-School Connection Committee, comprised of parents and teachers, hosted the event to reinforce the importance of reading, increase parent involvement, and strengthen the connection between home and school. During Pajama Read Night the students were set up in small groups in which they listened to teachers read them stories. They received a light snack, and were given a book to keep so that they may continue practicing their reading with their parents.

While the kindergarteners were with their teachers, their parents were in the cafeteria listening to a presentation by Principal Michael Kelly and Assistant Principal Cynthia Florio on the importance of literacy.
