Curtis Murphy, owner of Falcaro's Amity Bowl Amityville resident Curtis Murphy, who owned and operated Falcaro's Amity Bowl, died November 2, 2007 at North Shore University in Plainview. He was 60 years old. Born in Teaneck, New Jersey to James Michael and Helen Joan (nee Glasco), he served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. For many years he owned the bowling alley at 104 Merrick Road in Amityville. The site is now home to the new Dolphin Fitness Center. Mr. Murphy leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Stephanie; his children: Christopher M. and his companion Jennifer Deutsch, and Shane C. Murphy; his father, James M.; his siblings: Jimmy and his wife Ruth, Kathy, Don and his wife Susan, Paul and his companion Paul Leyden, Gregory, and his wife Ludovica Villar Hauser, MaryEllen Peck and her husband Andy, Sheila, Beth Murphy Stokes and her husband Tom and Peggy Deangelis and her husband Lou. He was predeceased by his mother Helen and his brother Kevin.
Rev. Father Thomas Murphy, his cousin, conducted a prayer service at the Powell Funeral Home, 65 Broadway, Amityville on Nov. 4, 2007. Father Murphy officiated at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in Amityville, assisted by the Consolation Ministry and members of the family. Interment followed in the Amityville Cemetery with Military Honors.
