St. Martin of Tours helps needy children

Sixth grader Kelly Roache at St. Martin of Tours in Amityville is helping the needy children around the world. Kelly is getting all the students at the school to donate basic school supplies and/or a Healthy Kid Kit for AmeriCares. AmeriCares is a nonprofit international relief organization. A Healthy Kid Kit consists of one toothbrush, one large tooth comb or small hairbrush, one travel-size bar of soap, one small face cloth and one "fun" item such as a small hand-held stuffed animal, hand-held ball, matchbox car or a packet of stickers. The kits will be sent to AmeriCares partners that work with children in different countries. These countries include: Afghanistan, Colombia, Guatemala, Iraq and Mongolia.
