Col. Gilbert Potter Chapter DAR hosts its Fall meeting

DAR) met for its fall meeting at the home of Regent Sue Shreve in Bay Shore. All officers and committee chairmen gave their reports. The guest speaker was Gerri Mac Whinnie, New York State and National Schools docent. She showed films of the DAR schools supported by the organization, that are scattered throughout the United States, the closest to us is Hillside School in Massachusetts. Children from broken homes, orphaned by one or both parents, are given the opportunity for an education until the age of 18. The refreshment committee consisted of Kay Dewar, Diane Apgar and Jeannette Krauszer, who also poured.
