Copiague to compete in Cablevision Challenge

All-star student scholars from Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School will challenge Central Islip High School in the first round of the 11th season of Cablevision's The Challenge, an academic quiz show designed to test students' knowledge in a Jeopardy-style format. The first round match-up between Copiague and Central Islip will air exclusively on News 12 Long Island at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 with an encore airing the very next night, Sunday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The Challenge, hosted by News 12 Long Island Anchor Scott Feldman can also be viewed anytime through the video on demand (VOD) through News 12 Interactive, located on iO TV channel 612.

Representing Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School will be Sean Johnston, Adam Junge (captain), Jacob Ohrnberger, Wills Ohrnberger and Richard Pongvitayapanu. The team's academic advisors are Warren Bender and Beth Kattleman.
