Couple rob local Amityville business A pair of thieves broke into the Mail Annex at 71 Ireland Pl., Halloween night, forcing an employee there to the floor and fleeing with an envelope of cash. Amityville Village Police said that the incident occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. Two subjects, one a black female and the other a black male, walked into the business. As the female subdued the employee, the male jumped the counter, ran into the back room where the safe was located and came out with an envelope of cash.
The female was described as approximately fivefeet, two-inches, 120 pounds with a medium build. She had dark hair pulled back in a bun. No descripton of the male was listed. Police said the two fled the scene in an unknown direction and they are investigating.
