Holiday Happening event to be held December 8

On Saturday, Dec, 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Sophia Garden & Learning Center will present its third annual A Holiday Happening - Holiday Purchases with a Purpose at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Saint Dominic. The event will benefit the Sophia Garden & Learning Center's CSA (Community Sustained Agriculture) project and educational programs at the Learning Center.

The event will provide an alternative to the commercial, harried experience of contemporary holiday shopping. With special vendors who care about people and the earth, shoppers can choose from a wide variety of gifts for all ages, knowing that their purchases have a purpose - supporting Sophia Garden and Learning Center, as well as the earth and peoplecentered projects.

This special shopping event will be held in Mother Josepha Hall at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Saint Dominic, 555 Albany Ave., Amityville. There is ample parking on the side of the building.
