Bay Village Civic and AMHS hold landscape project Nov. 3

The Bay Village Civic Association, representing residents of the Village of Amityville, in conjunction with the Amity Parent Teacher Council, will join with students of Amityville High to enhance the landscape in front of Amityville Memorial High School.

At the request of Mayor Peter Imbert and with the encouragement and assistance of the high school Principal Dr. Scott Andrews, a day of planting will be held at the school on Saturday, November 3. The rain date is Sunday, November 4. Volunteers will assembley at the school at 9 a.m. Coffee and bagels will be provided.

The entire community is invited to join in. Bring gloves and small shovels for bulb planting. Through the efforts of Councilperson Ellen McVeety, the Town of Babylon will donate over 500 daffodil bulbs.

This initiative was formally announced at a Bay Village Civic social held at Chester's on Friday, October 19. In addition to a big turnout of BVCA members and guests, Interim Superintendent Dr. John Williams and Assistant Principal Steve Lindenfeld joined in the festivities.
