Science of Spirituality to host meditation program for youths It is a frequent occurrence for us that as adults, when we find a skill or practice we feel will add to the quality of our life, we say, "I wish I had started that when I was a kid." The current trend towards meditation and spirituality is one of the latest "I wish" categories, and now, Science of Spirituality is offering us the solution. On Saturday, November 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Science of Spirituality will be hosting Youth Angels, a camp for children which will teach meditation, yoga, peaceful leadership and conflict resolution in an interfaith, nonreligious environment. The Youth Angels Camp will offer its young participants workshops on meditation, ethical values and yoga and will include games, prizes and even a clown show. The event also includes a free vegetarian lunch and workshops for parents in both English and Spanish. Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, the director of Science of Spirituality, has said, "If along with the intellectual and physical traits, the spiritual traits can be taught to children, then this world will become a place in which we can say that heaven has been brought down on Earth."
Youth Angels is open to all children ages six to twelve, regardless of cultural or religious background. It will be held at the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center, 79 County Line Road, Amityville. The camp is free of charge, and all participants must register by contacting: 631-691-7100 or NYinfo@sos.org. Transportation will be provided from New York City.
