Amityville Soccer

•September 30 saw the Gunners (U 15) travel to South Huntington, where they were down 2-0 in short order. However, stalwart defense by Chris Young, Matt Parker and Max Morin, in goal, prevented any further scores. Doggedly, the offense chipped away with Dylan Rosser and Carlos Umana tying the score as the clock wound down ... Rosser scored again two weeks later as the Gunners held off the East Islip Eagles, 2-1. Anthony Vasquez put the Gunners ahead and defense by Kyle Stafford and Chris Lamarr kept it that way.

•On October 14, the Riptide (U14) played their best game of the season, a 1-1 tie against the Northport Blue Waves. Sarah Dubinsky scored the Riptide goal in the first half. Casey O'Neill and Kelly Siry played intensely on offense. A ferocious defense was lead by Halley Jacobson and Olivia Booth. Allie McDonough played a great game as stopper, and Morgan Seeberger played strong in the middle.

•The Amityville Surf (U12) rebounded from a tough loss to East Islip, beating the Blue Crush from West Islip 3-1 on October 14. In the first game, Sarah O'Neill played tough in goal, keeping the Surf in the game. Katrina Pastore played hard on offense, and Madison Fulford played a strong game in the middle. In the second game, Annie Gilligan scored her first goal of the season on a beautiful cross from Faith Daley. Brianna Renda continued her tenacious defense and Anastasia Fitzgerald played hard on offense all game long.

•The action was fast and furious on September 23 when the Stingrays took on the Hurricanes (U6). Nina Babbington and Kyle Barsic both scored for the Stingrays. Harry Burnett seemed to be everywhere on defense while Kaylee Howell and Riley Ferrigan were instrumental in moving the ball forward.
