Amityville graduate returns from tour in Iraq

Jabbar N. Colbert recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. The son of James and Connie Colbert and an honor graduate of Amityville Memorial High School, Colbert graduated magna cum laude from Florida A & M University where he received a bachelor's degree in public relations and a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.

On August 1, he was promoted to the rank of captain at Camp Polk, Louisiana where he will be trained for his next assignment.

A resident of North Amityville, Captain Colbert attends Hollywood Baptist Church of Christ.
