Amity High student chosen to perform at Apollo Theater
      Terrence Washington, a student at Amityville Memorial High School, auditioned at the Apollo Theater playing the tenor saxophone on September 15. He was chosen out of 300 contestants to perform on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 for the "Amateur Night.

AMVETS to host annual Pearl Harbor Day, respond now
      AMVETS Post 888 will be hosting the Annual Pearl Harbor Day, Sunday, December 2 at Long Island National Veterans Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale. Assembly is at 1 p.m. and the ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. All participants are welcomed back to AMVETS Post 88 for refreshments.

      Held October 6th, 2007 "A" stands for Apples, Art and Amityville, and all were well represented at the Amityville Rotary Club's annual Applefest Oct. 6. The event was held on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church and beautiful weather brought hundreds of fairgoers.
