Amityville Artists' Circle to host tour this Saturday The Amityville Artists' Circle opened its new Circle Gallery at 186 Broadway September 8 with an exhibit of the works of local artists who are members of the group. The work of renovating the space was completed by the artists who completed the project in three weeks. Artist volunteers, relatives and friends worked together tirelessly hanging sheet rock, painting, spackling and doing everything necessary to transform the space into the Circle Gallery. The Galery is open Thursday and Friday, 4 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday 1 to 8 p.m. and Sunday to 5 p.m. through November. On Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p,m, there will be a tour of the studio and exhibition. Several member artists will be showing their work and working at the gallery. There are 12 studios on the tour as well, featuring the work of 17 artists in Amityville. Tickets are available at the gallery, Amy's Self Image Salon, Marcela's Country Petals, Delightful Treasures and at the Artists' Circle table at the Rotary Apple Festival on October that day. Tickets are $10 and include a tour map as well as discounts from several local merchants. An original sculpture by Amityville's own Harry Saarinen and an original painting by Andriani Mikolatis will be raffled off October 7.
Space for the gallery was provided by local restaurateur Michael Esposito of Vittorio's.
