Amity gardener wins first place in tomato contest
      Amityville resident Bill Jordan, shown right, took first prize for the heaviest tomato (2.4 pounds) at the Hicks Nurseries Tenth Annual Tomato Contest. Each fall the nursery holds a tomato growing giving prizes for the heaviest, largest circumference, most unusual and tiniest tomatoes.
