Colonial Dames hold meeting

On Saturday, April 21, the Long Island Chapter of the Colonial Dames 17th Century had its meeting at the home of Kay Dewar (past state president and historian general) in Massapequa Park.

Member Peggy Crichton, past president from Amityville, presented the chapter with a check to start a local scholarship fund for members' children who are attending college. A presentation was made by two members, Kay Dewar on Heraldry and Coats of Arms and Jeannette Krauszer on the Foremothers Club.

Colonial Dames 17th Century is a group of women that can trace their ancestry to prior to 1701. If you have an interest in your family history and genealogy, contact the Long Island Chapter President Sharon Piscopia at 516- 742-1727.
