Most of the items on display were hand quilted by local residents, or those from our neighboring communities. Some quilts are collectible items, dating back to the turn of the 20th century, including a 1906 red work quilt, a silk World War 1 cigarette card quilt and a circa 1900 cigar box felt quilt. Designs such as flying geese, a maple leaf and baby blocks can be found in the quilts handmade by our community of quilters. This display commemorates the Amityville Public Library's Centennial Celebration.
