Applefest set for October 6

Once again, the Amityville Rotary Club is hosting its ever-popular annual Apple Festival. This year's event is Saturday, October 6, on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church, 25 Broadway, Amityville, just north of Merrick Road. The event will be held from 10 a.m., to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Apples can be purchased by the bag the day of the festival. Advance orders by the case can be made by calling Linda Batz, 631-264-0300. You can select from a large variety of apples.

The Rotary Club will be selling delicious apple pies, apple cider and other treats. There will be arts and crafts, facepainting, food vendors and music.
