•A program on hurricane preparedness will be held Thursday, August 16, 7 to 8 p.m. Learn how to care for your family in the event of a crisis. Members of the Suffolk Office of Emergency management and the Red Cross will discuss self and family preparedness, preparations for people with special needs, evacuation, finding shelter and caring for your pet during an emergency.

•An introduction to digital photography will be given Tuesday, August 21, 7 to 8:30 p.m. by Stu Gershon. Some topics to be covered are how to transfer images from the camera to your computer, basic editing techniques and how to send and receive photos with email and more.
