Registration underway for annual Stop World Hunger Tennis Tournament

Registration is underway for the 27th Annual Stop World Hunger Tennis Tournament. The tournament is open to tennis players from all of Long Island. Players from more than 40 Long Island communities are expected to take part.

The purpose of the tennis tournament is to provide an enjoyable recreational activity, while helping those in desperate need. All entry fees and donations are forwarded to Catholic Relief Services to assist them in their efforts to nourish and heal hungry children throughout the world. Assistance is provided in 99 countries where the need is greatest, regardless of race, religion and/or nationality.

Events consist of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The cost if $6 for singles and $10 for doubles. Participants schedule their own matches at mutually convenient times and sites. All matches are to be played between September 8 and November 18. The deadline for registration is August 31.
