Senator Fuschillo congratulates honor society inductee Katerina Duarte

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently congratulated Katerina Duarte, a student at St. Martin of Tours School in Amityville, on being inducted into the St. Catherine of Siena Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Senator Fuschillo met with Katerina and her father, Dr. Eduardo Duarte, during his mobile office hours at the Amityville Library.

Duarte is a straight A student who has served as a member of the student government, the school band and the school safety patrol. Outside of school, Duarte donates her time as a volunteer of the Amityville Library and plays on a travel soccer team.

Duarte aspires to attend Princeton University and one day serve in public office as a United states Senator.

Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is based on scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship.
