St. Martin of Tours third grade students celebrate reading
Patricia Savish's third grade class is required to read five books a month throughout the school year. No book reports are due but the students must make an oral presentation about the book to encourage them to find the joy of reading. Students who accomplish this receive a box full of special things including books, games and pictures from the teacher. The students shown all read the required amount and some of them even went beyond the five books a month.
Savish is shown in the back row and the children, left to right, are Nicholas DeMarco, Gabriella Gardocki, Alec Byrne, Austin Quinn, Christina Dexter and in the front row are Kristen Short, Julia Regan, Nora Burnett, Olivia Maynard and Michael Iorio.
